Site Reliability Engineer (m/f)

Who We Are

Next Gate Tech is a Luxembourg based data management-as-a-service and analytics company that provides smart automated solutions for the Asset Management Industry. Leveraging the rapid emergence of cloud based computing frameworks, we are looking to add an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to our growing team who is highly skilled in applying the principles of development to the challenge of reliability.

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and scalability of our systems. You will work closely with our development teams to design and implement infrastructure and processes that support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our software. This might also include automated testing, integration applications/infrastructure, real-time monitoring, performance measurement, and managing the release and deployment life-cycle.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement infrastructure and processes to support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of our software
• Proactively build and implement software solutions based on identified needs to accelerate development velocity without compromising reliability, including code adjustments, automation, monitoring and alerts, and incident management tools
• Help define and implement SLIs, SLOs and check SLAs
• Document knowledge to ensure that everyone is working with the same information, bringing standardization to workflows
• Fixing support escalation issues, and optimizing on call rotations and processes where needed
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems to identify and resolve issues
• Collaborate with development teams to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Conduct post incident reviews to identify what’s working and what's not, and take action on learnings

What YOU will bring to the team

• Proven academic success in computer engineering or a technology related field
• 3+ years of professional programming experience using Python and Bash shell scripting with an aptitude for coding testing and coding problem solving
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
• The ability to create/ refactor deployment pipelines (we use Jenkins)
• Self sufficiency with a curious attitude: you are keen to understand how things work and improve them by continuous iteration
• Experience with infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience with database administration
