Monex Europe S.A. is a commercial foreign exchange provider and authorized by the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier (CSSF) as a payment institution.

Monex Europe S.A. is the third office the Monex group has opened in mainland Europe, having already established successful offices in Madrid in 2012 and Amsterdam in 2015 in addition to its headquarters in the City of London. Since opening in December 2020 the team has been on a rapid extension drive. With a large number of clients onboard and recently joining the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association, the commercial foreign exchange specialist’s growth trajectory is set to continue.

The Compliance Department is responsible for ensuring the firm operates in compliance with its regulatory obligations and has systems and controls for the prevention of financial crime. The Department seeks to educate the wider business about legal, regulatory and financial crime risks and requirements. The Department recognises the firm has grown rapidly and therefore system and controls may have to be developed concurrently with the business. While tactical solutions are deployed, the goal of the Department is to develop and implement scalable solutions that are not dependent on manual intervention.


The Junior Compliance Analyst (Monitoring) is mainly responsible for ensuring that all relevant steps of the transaction and client monitoring process are effectively and timely completed. This includes, but is not limited to, clearing alerts in the relevant monitoring systems (real-time, ex-post and existing client name-matching) and reviewing existing clients on an ongoing basis. The Junior Compliance Analyst must monitor clients whilst adhering to the internal policies and procedures set out by the Monex Group whilst identifying any potential risks to the business by following the escalation process stated in these policies.


The role acts to support the Senior Compliance Analyst(s) and Compliance Officer in all areas of the related to the AML/CFT professional obligations (Customer due diligence, Adequate internal organization and Cooperation with authorities).

To provide coverage during peak activity times and to ensure the business continuity of the Compliance function, the Junior Compliance Analyst (Monitoring) may be required, from time to time, to support the Compliance Onboarding team, which is responsible for onboarding new clients and to assist in the completion of KYC requirements when Monex Europe S.A. is being on boarded by other banks/counterparties.  

Finally, the Junior Compliance Analyst (Monitoring) may be requested, from time to time, to assist on other regulatory compliance topics, including but not limited to:

  • Client complaints
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Regulatory watch
  • EMIR
  • Code of Conduct and Ethics
  • Personal Data Protection


  • Recent graduate in Business Administration, Finance or Law
  • High standard of oral & written English is mandatory
  • Spanish and French are highly desirable, any other language is a plus
  • A first experience in a compliance or internal / external audit department within the financial service industry (max. 2 years) is desirable, but not mandatory;
  • Demonstrates professional acumen, integrity, discretion, credibility, resilience & trustworthiness;
  • Able to support the team with integrity and create a pleasant work environment;
  • Self-motivated;
  • Excellent all-round communication skills;
  • Good organisational skills, able to multi-task
